Mapquest says that it is just over 35 miles between Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport and Carleton College. (They also plot out a route that has you using back roads throughout the entire trip - just get onto Interstate 35 going south and stay on it until you reach exit 69, turn left and you will end up in downtown Northfield. You'll shave at least a quarter hour off the trip.)

Jefferson Bus Lines runs a service from the Airport to downtown Northfield. The bus leaves the Minneapolis airport daily at 1:35 PM and 8:00 PM and arrives in Northfield roughly 35 minutes later. For the return trip, the bus leaves Northfield at 3:45 AM and 8:40 AM daily. Tickets are 9.90 each way on weekdays, 10.90 on weekends.
