Takashi's Death

(GM note: there's an awful lot missing here, so if anyone wants to fill stuff in, that'd be great)

Everything in Ray's life sucks right now. He's been suspended from the force for reasons that are neither clear nor satisfactory. Apparently it has something to do with the events in Wisconsin, but it doesn't really make sense. That turn of events (getting suspended) was surprising to ME, as the player, but of course it affects Ray a whole lot more. Then the group was invited to San Francisco by a man whose daughter had gone missing, and he suspected a demon, so he didn't want to go to the officials. (Apparently he'd read about the homicide detective in Chicago, and tracked him/me down somehow.) So we go out there to meet him, and discover he's been skinned and stuffed in his own refrigerator. Then we go looking for his daughter, last known whereabouts a remote Japanese monastery on a mountain in eastern CA. Ray is brooding over his own problems and sort of falls into the bottle, just in time to be useless when one of our key informants (Takashi) dies mysteriously and Adam, Kathy and Hazel meet the ghost of a child whose face has been shot off. Didier and Ray were down for the count at that point, so they don't actually know anything about it, unless Kathy told Didier about it. Takashi apparently was being chased by something large with great flapping wings, and he went over a cliff on his bicycle.

So our last session wrapped up (Saturday night) with Adam packing up all his and Ray's stuff and insisting they go home, fuck the others, not to mention Adam being pissed at Ray for getting trashed and not helping to prevent the death of Takashi, Kathy and Didier saying "We're gonna go check out the mysterious haunted glen where people disappear when they try to find it, you can either come or not, fuck you, but we're leaving in ten minutes," and Ray caught between his own curiosity about the glen and his loyalty to his brother, not to mention that he KNOWS his brother's argument makes sense. We about got into a shouting match with Adam itemizing the faults and incompetencies of everyone else in the group (including Ray) in a raised voice, and finally saying "We are fucking leaving! Now!" and Ray (me) shooting back: "We are fucking NOT!" I really can't argue with him. His argument makes total sense. Trouble is, I KNOW we're going to go up to that glen and have an encounter with the demon.
